Accomodation
Access to all areas of the house including the communal kitchen, living area and bathroom.
The house has smoke alarms & carbon monoxide alarms, a fire blanket and extinguisher and these are located in the kitchen.
There are regular risk assessments undertaken and health and safety checks.
A Fridge/ Freezer and cupboards are stocked with basic essentials needed for cooking and making meals, such as oils, condiments, bread, cheese, butter, eggs, however the main ingredients for everyday meals will need to be purchased by residents with guidance and support from staff when needed. Cooking utensils and crockery are available for use as well as a washing machine, tumble dryer, and dish washer. Cleaning materials are stocked and kept in a locked cupboard.
The Lounge/Diner is a communal area and is available for all young people to use from 8.00am to 11.00pm. Comfortable seating and dining table and chairs are provided to enable young people to socialise and have a space to use as well as their bedroom. A television with freeview and DVD player are also available for use, there are also books, DVD’s and magazines . There is a Nintendo Wii games console available with various games for all young people to use.
A downstairs WC is available with basin and toilet. The Upstairs main bathroom contains bath, overhead power shower, basin and toilet. We provide two bales of towels including flannel, hand towel and bath towel for each young person, however toiletries will need to be purchased individually as part of their weekly shop.
Each young person will always benefit from their own bedroom and this is a good sized room. The bedrooms give each young person their own safe and comfortable space. Each young person is encouraged to personalise their bedroom and once they are settled we take them shopping so that they can choose their own bedding and any other personal accessories that they may like to make their room feel like their own. Each room has a lock with a key.
