Placements & Emergencies

We have vast experience of dealing with young people that have:

 

“Futures” offer accommodation and support to medium/high risk young people . We aim to offer residents a safe, friendly and stable environment to thrive in and reach their potential.

 

“Futures” also aims to help with everyday and long term life building skills to enable each resident to prepare for independent living.

• We try and consider a placement match with other young people accommodated based on an initial assessment of needs of any young person that is referred.
• We take into consideration the needs of the young person and whether the accommodation would be suitable and sustainable.
• In the event of a planned move, an offer of placement will be usually based
  on:
  – All available paperwork for the young person being accessible for us to view
  – An initial visit to the placement by the young person and their social worker, so that they can view the placement and we can discuss the way the placement works.
  – We will provide the young person with a copy of the residents handbook, which outlines our house rules and other policies. This handbook is clear and easy to understand.
  – A risk assessment being carried out by us based on the young persons needs, and the needs of other young people and staff. This is to establish whether the placement is suitable.
• We accept emergency placements and the General Manager will make the overall decision on the referral, depending on the needs of the young person and the urgency and circumstances for the placement.
